Long-standing customer United Colors Team strengthens links with trusted partner to maintain top supplier position

A strategic and long-lasting partnership between Konica Minolta and United Colors Team has been further strengthened with an investment in new equipment and software. This includes theAccurioJet KM-1UV inkjet sheetfed digital B2+ production press, known as the “Swiss army knife” of printing because it has so many uses.

United Colors Team in Romania owns a fleet of Konica Minolta state-of-the-art equipment and production systems, including an AccurioPress C14000 installed in September 2020, as well as Konica Minolta-supplied finishing systems, software and comprehensive service support.

With severe coronavirus restrictions in place, United Colors Team executives viewed online demonstrations on the AccurioJet KM-1 at Konica Minolta’s strategic printing centre, Digital Imaging Centre, in Bratislava, Slovakia, that is focused on high quality demo prints for production and industrial printing. Test files were printed on the B2+ sheetfed UV colour inkjet production press in the showroom.

Knowing it wanted to replace outdated digital equipment, United Team Colors decided to invest in the AccurioJet KM-1 in October 2020. As part of a strategic, collaborative, all-encompassing approach, the company has also installed a Konica Minolta Workplace Hub sophisticated IT solution. This will support production flows, unify software and act as a print server. Konica Minolta’s AccurioFlux software will drive the development of an online web-shop for the company.

United Colors Team, which is headquartered in Bucharest and serves local and international market, has traditionally worked in advertising production and provides a complete range of services and products. The company makes various materials, from business cards and an entire portfolio of branded materials to roll-ups and stickers, banners and other outdoor prints. It also offers prepress services, product development, full production and advertising campaigns, including complete delivery services. Other markets it serves include construction, healthcare and pharmaceutical.

Sorin Sumanaru, Team Leader Industrial and Production Printing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions Romania, said: This project involved a great transfer of trust between United Colors Team and Konica Minolta, based on technology, expertise and the quality of services delivered by us. The level of complexity of the client’s needs offered us the opportunity to work in a significant business consultancy role for United Colors Team and to create together a complex architecture through which to integrate in production the latest generation of hardware and software solutions.” He added: The objectives of this project were to offer added value to the clients’ business and also provide possibilities for a quick return on investment based on the highest quality of prints and services.”
